Thursday and Friday were spent getting things ready for conference weekend. We spent time running to several stores buying needed supplies, getting to the temple before it closed, and then spending about 11 hours on Friday making applesauce. I was hoping to make it to the orchard to pick apples on Thursday, but didn't so our wonderful, amazing, giving friend Tanya gathered some apples for us to can. THANK YOU SO MUCH TANYA!!!!!!!
Tyler has been helping with all the canning this summer and I think she is finally getting sick of it. We spent lots of time washing the apples . . .
peeling, slicing, and coring the apples . . .
mashing and blending the apples . . .
and finally processing the apples. When we finished we had 37 quarts of applesauce. Some batches we left chunky, while others we blended smooth. We also added in some of the dehydrated applesauce from food storage to help stretch the apples.
All in all it was a busy few days!

I found your blog when I was googling food storage and yours came up since you mention it in your post.
That applesauce looks delicious! That's so impressive that you made so much.
